There are several reasons for extracting teeth including over-retained sharks teeth, infection, dental trauma and crowding for orthodontic purposes. When extractions are necessary, we do our best to see that your child has a comfortable experience. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and local anesthesia are generally recommended for the most comfortable visit. Oral conscious sedation could also be considered for anxious kids needing extractions.  During this procedure Dr. Lora will explain everything in child friendly language to make sure your child is ready to move forward.  After an extraction, it is very important to keep adequate pressure with gauze to control the bleeding. We recommend Tylenol or Motrin for pain control, along with a soft diet. Please contact our office if your child’s pain persists.
